Our Know-How

Our high-performance digital cameras are designed, manufactured and supported by Allied Vision Technologies:

R&D
Building on the experience of FireWire expert AVT and GigE Vision pioneer Prosilica, Allied Vision Technologies' engineers develop high-tech digital camera solutions for the most demanding machine vision applications, including powerful software interfaces for an easy system integration.

Manufacturing
All AVT cameras are manufactured by Allied Vision Technologie's own production sites located in Stadtroda (Germany) and Burnaby (Canada). Highly skilled staff and clean room facilities ensure “made-in-Germany” quality. All cameras leaving the production floor undergo a thorough quality test prior to shipment.

Service
AVT's sales and technical support organization counsels and assists customers before, during and after the purchasing process in choosing the right camera, selecting appropriate accessories and software development kits, installing and running the camera quickly and efficiently. Allied Vision Technologies has also established itself as a market leader in camera modification and custom design to meet specific requirements not addressed by standard camera models.

Allied Vision Technologies is an ISO-9001 certified company.

pi4_workerbot demo at VISION 2010

The pi4_workerbot by pi4_robotics ( www.pi4-robotics.com ) is a novel, highly flexible industrial robot. Thanks to its built-in sensor array (cameras and power sensors built into its arms), the pi4_workerbot can "see" and "feel" what it grasps and manipulates and self-monitor the quality of its own work. The "eyes" of the pi4_workerbot are FireWire cameras from Allied Vision Technologies.

AVT goes Vision Technologies

It began in 1989: with the founding, the company realized the industry's increasing need for professional image technology for industrial production early on. They had a clear goal in sight: to offer to the machine vision market high-quality and tailor-made camera solutions.

Today Allied Vision Technologies is one of the most important developers and manufacturers in the camera and component field for industrial image processing as well as a valued partner when it comes to application-oriented modifications and customizations.

Programmed For Growth
With the renaming to Allied Vision Technologies at the end of 2001, a lot more has happened than just a name change. With entry into the Augusta Technologie AG business body, the strategy for further growth has been established. With more than 100 employees, Allied Vision Technologies counts as one of the biggest companies in the field of vision inspection. Cameras and a wide variety of accessories are developed, produced and distributed at Stadtroda and Ahrensburg by Allied Vision Technologies.

In 2008, the acquisition of the Canadian camera manufacturer Prosilica was another major step in the implementation of Allied Vision Technologies' ambitious strategy to become a global market leader in digital machine vision cameras.

Development, modification and customization of Cameras.
As one of the biggest manufacturers on this market, AVT supplies high-end cameras and components for science, medicine technology, the producing industry, machine manufacturers, system integrators, image processors and dealers. Additionally, AVT is well-known for modifications and customized casings, optics, lighting and cables.

Highly qualified development and application engineers as well as qualified optoelectronic experts rely on a unique know-how when it comes to individual solutions and applications for clients. The experience gained by the development and production of thousands of cameras form the base of the development of digital cameras.

Since 2002, Alllied Vision Technologies has successfully developed and marketed six digital camera families covering a wide range of machine vision applications. Over this period of time, AVT has established itself as the market leader for digital cameras with a FireWire interface (IEEE 1394) worldwide. With Prosilica, Allied Vision Technologies expands its know-how and product portfolio with a complete range of cameras using the Gigabit-Ethernet interface (GigE).

Customer-Oriented Organisation of AVT
The main focus of Allied Vision Technologies' organization is on service, which we at AVT see as more than just client support after purchasing. As early as the planning phase, we stand by our client's side as a competent partner when it comes to realizing individual, cost-effective solutions. With consulting, development and production under one roof, Allied Vision Technologies provides solutions in one package, that few other companies on the market can provide.

At a very early stage in the company's history, AVT implemented a comprehensive Customer Relationship Management system (CRM) covering all internal processes for the highest possible level of service. This was honored by the CRM Best Practice Award in 2004 and 2008.
