ArgusTM4 is the latest generation of ArgusTM Thermal Imaging Camera (TIC) from e2v technologies. The ArgusTM4 has been designed with digital imaging technology for a sharper picture and uses the highly successful Amorphous Silicon (ASi) Microbolometer Detector that is in use by many of the world's fire brigades. The ArgusTM4 is a simple-to-operate, robust, self-contained camera, with fully automatic operation; no control or adjustment is required in use. The camera has been specifically designed to help firefighters to see through smoke, identify and rescue casualties and locate hot spots or the seat and spread of the fire. It has many further applications where temperatures require monitoring such as preventative maintenance and condition monitoring of equipment. It also provides vision where light is unavailable.
The new Argus™4 thermal imaging camera takes thermal imaging usability to a new level. At only 1.5kg the camera is extremely lightweight and the ergonomic design of the camera's body makes it very comfortable to use. This little thermal image camera provides practical usability without compromising comfort, safety and durability.
Not only is it compact, it is also capable with a x2 zoom, storage for up to 100 images and spot and ambient temperature measurements as standard features. In addition it has a 13 colour screen display option as well as the ability to customise the camera settings to a fire fighter's own personal preference.
To ensure it can withstand the tough environments fire fighters have to operate in, the Argus™4 thermal image camera has a ruggedised, high quality Radel casing. It was specially chosen because of its strength, resistance to heat, water and impact. It can also withstand driving spray and short-term immersion in water to a depth of 1 metre – as well as survive a 2 metre drop test and naturally tolerate high temperatures - it really is a tough little camera.
