Pericentric lenses are specifically designed to work with 1/2” and 1/3” detectors: larger detectors would need an higher optical system
magnification which would cause a lack of field depth, necessary to focus thick objects. The image of the front surface of the object and
its stratched side walls are inscribed into the short side of the detector.
For instance a PF 12 30 will create the image of the front surface and side walls of a cylinder of diameter 30 mm and heght 20 mm on a disk with a diameter of about 4,8 mm (short side of a 1/2”).Pericentric lenses are C-mount .
